Reporting for the British Empire!
It is 1913 and Britain has been building its Empire for over a century to great success, but now finds itself entangled in a vast web of political and economic struggles all over the world. You all will be reporters for The Illustrated London News. You have been given the assignment to write an article and provide an illustration for a special issue, which would help inform our fellow British citizens about our Empire and what the growing political tensions are.
You will be an independent reporter for The Illustrated London News. You will select a topic to research and write an article on it. You must get approval from your editor (Mrs. Clark) before writing! This will ensure that our special issue has a well-rounded view of the Empire and the growing conflicts.
After getting topic approval from your editor, you will need to write an informative article so that readers all around Great Britain can know about the British Empire.
All articles must be well researched and include either a map or an image. Each article must be 450 - 500 words long and include some information about the location being talked about (at least one of the 5 themes of geography addressed) and the culture of the location (at least one of the 6 cultural traits). Each article must include an illustration or a map relevant to your topic.
Remember to use online source evaluation when choosing digital sources and check for accuracy, or the newspaper could be sued for libel! You must also cite your sources appropriately at the end of your article.
